Wellbeing
In Attain, we take a proactive approach to pupil and staff wellbeing. Our pupils benefit from varied resources to support their mental wellbeing such as yoga, mindfulness, My Happy Mind, counselling, therapy dogs and, crucially, a shared understanding among staff that children need to be in the right mental ‘zone’ to learn well.
A staff wellbeing charter has been launched which enshrines our wellbeing pledge:
As a Trust we place a strong emphasis on the wellbeing and mental health of our staff and make it a key consideration in our strategic decision making and practice. We commit to establishing and maintaining a long-term strategy for promoting and improving staff wellbeing that, within a positive and supportive culture, will:
-
Prioritise staff mental health
-
Give staff the support they need to take responsibility for their own and others’ wellbeing
-
Give managers access to the tools and resources they need to support those they line manage
-
Give staff a voice in decision making
-
Give due regard to the reduction of unnecessary workload
-
Support staff to progress in their careers
-
Ensure we hold ourselves accountable
